Chicago police have released video of a suspect beating a female officer after
she decided not to shoot him.
She was apparently reluctant to pull the trigger over fears of a potential backlash
against her and the police department.
The officer was attacked after Parta Huff, 28, crashed his vehicle into a liquor store.
Witnesses said Huff was "out of it" and when officers arrived he was combative and
resisted arrest.
In the video he is seen throwing the female officer to the ground and punching her
several times. The officer was concussed and suffered injuries to her face, shoulder
and neck, according to reports.
Police say Huff tested positive for Phencyclidine or PCP, which is also known a
Angel Dust and can give users a feeling of great strength and invulnerability.'

'Superintendent Eddie Johnson told WGN TV News the officer did not shoot Huff
because she was afraid of the "scrutiny" that might follow.
"This attack went on for several minutes," Mr Johnson said.
"As I was at the hospital last night visiting with her, she looked at me and said she
thought she was going to die and she knew that she should shoot this guy.
"But she chose not to because she didn't want her family or the department to have
to go through the scrutiny the next day on the national news."...'
