I think it has more to do with class and status than color.
If we are both at ground level, we will see things about the same.
Move up the mountain a few feet and you can see things that those below you cannot see.
Move up a few more feet and you will be able to see a vast expanse, but those below become more difficult to see, and look very small.
Move even further up and your can see miles around, but you can no longer see what is below your feet.
Move up further and you will only be able to see clouds.
