Armored trains are loaded with artillery and machine guns. In the 1940s, they were used to patrol rail lines and provide security for rail maintenance crews.
Germany had specialized versions that were mobile anti-aircraft platforms.
These days ... dunno, it sounds like a big target for antitank guided missiles. Makes me wonder if Russian rail traffic in Ukraine is getting unwelcome attention from the locals.
