That isn't the case. Europe has plenty of democracies, but little respect for the freedom of individuals. Describing European countries as police states is not far off the mark. New Zealand is considered a democracy, but Christ, look at the crackdowns going on there, complete with an acolyte of China in charge. Canada ... 'nuff said.
So when I see a remark like the one quoted, I wonder "what is the definition of 'freedom' here?"
The USA still has some individual freedoms, but they are under attack from ideological fanatics at every political echelon.
Stopping the insanity of the "reset" is going to take a lot more people than just DJT. Hard times are coming, and we will see who truly values their independence and who are the collaborators. The last lunge at world domination failed because the USA wasn't on board with the project. The situation today is rather different.

It's a physical impossibility for a democracy to have any respect for an individual or individual freedom. An individual, by definition, is set apart, not a part of, the herd, the hive mind, that makes up a democracy.
An individual who stands alone is anathema to the hive. A collection of individuals who each go their own way, make their own decisions, make up their own minds, and exercise their own freedoms are also anathema to the hive mind, even if they are cooperative with one another. Being cooperative is NOT the same thing as being in lockstep. Those promoting "democracy" are hopeful that the rest of us will not realize that salient little fact.
There is a very good reason why a democracy has often been referred to as "the dictatorship of the proletariat".
