I can't imagine why - It seems a perfectly reasonable response, and I'm a thoroughly unreasonable person. No connection at all.
We did have a similar incident here a few years ago. Drivers were parking in a farmer's pasture to go to some sort of flea market next door, so the farmer finally got ticked off and brought several rolls of hay into the field and completely surrounded the cars so that no one could leave... then, as I recall, he went back to his house, locked the tractor in the barn, and went to bed for a nap since he couldn't get any work done.
What I don't understand about our incident here is why the drivers got so indignant about it. Entitlement has it's pitfalls, I reckon.
