What did attack this ship

Makes sense that it's a particularly giant squid, when you consider what squid try to do do whales.  They latch on to the face and the whale just starts eating.  This huge squid likely thought the ship was a whale.  Apparently they suffer from having eyes bigger than their stomachs lol
