What did attack this ship

I love storys like this, if true the beastie attacked the destroyer and I would think it had a close and personal encounter with the ships propellers and that would mean, Destroyer -1  beastie - 0.
I wonder how many of these beasties have attacked ships not understanding that they would get chewed up by the propellers, and no one onboard would of noticed
