We just got our house paid off last year. Now the property taxes are going up AGAIN, and that's under Trump. I can't imagine how much they'll jump if Biden gets in.
If we end up having to sell after ME working my a$$ off to get it paid, you are going to see the REAL bitch in me come out.

This may not have anything to do with your OP, but it just struck me, wondering if someday I will own nothing after working as hard as I have all my life TO own something.

One way of stopping real property ownership is, indeed, to tax people out of it.   We have one friend who had to move because of it.
