Turkey: Four hurt in Diyarbakir as explosion hits police compound.
'The explosion is reported to have happened as a vehicle was being repaired,
causing part of the building's roof to collapse.Several people have been injured in
an explosion at a police compound in the Turkish city of Diyarbakir.
The blast could be heard in several areas of the city, according to an AFP journalist
at the scene, with emergency workers reporting at least four people wounded.
One person is trapped beneath the debris and has yet to be rescued, Interior Minister
Suleyman Soylu said.
Ambulances and police rushed to the scene in the mainly Kurdish city's Baglar district,
where thick smoke was seen rising into the air. Mr Soylu told CNN Turk the explosion
happened during the repair of a vehicle in the compound, while a police source told
Reuters the blast had caused part of the roof to collapse.
While the cause is being investigated, Mr Soylu suggested that the explosion was
caused by repair work and was not the result of an attack...'
