Welp @Sol looks like our teams are meeting in the first round, Canadiens vs. Flyers!

Should be a good one, both teams are heading in with a lot of confidence.  Canadiens knocked off the penguanos and the Flyers went undefeated against the top teams in the conference.

Might come down to a goalie showdown, the experienced Price vs. the up and coming Hart.

To be honest, the Flyers are a superior team but as you say, the goalies may make all the difference in the world but still, Price alone can't win.

Looking forward to it though..

Cheers  minusculebeercheers

That's what I love about hockey, anything can happen.  Honestly i thought Shittsburgh would win in 4 against Montreal.  Last year, all four division leaders were knocked out of the first round.

I've been playing and watching hockey for 30 years, but I'll never bet money on a game let alone a series.

Help me out a little here. I googled the lineups (Canadiens and Flyers) no problem with that. Went to NHL.COM and i am unable to figure it out. So the deal seems to be (according to conversation here at this thread) That Habs and Flyers are gonna play a playoff series? How many butts do Habs need to kick before Stanley cup finals? If Habs get 4 wins before Flyers, are they in the finals then? Sorry but i am a real rookie, even as a couch+beer+potato chips sportsman, regarding to NHL. But i need to get my hockey fix from somewhere.

Yes, the Habs are going to be facing the Flyers, after having eliminated the Penguins, which Price the team has just done.

If my calculations are right, and when beer is involved - then those are as good as promises from our political leaders - the Habs would need to win the next consecutive 14 games to win the Stanley Cup.

GO HABS GO !!!

Cheers, Fin !

Damn! Your comparison with your calculations being right, and promises with political leaders, they made me laugh (it is hard to make me laugh, take my word for it)

Yeah no one is gonna win 14 consecutive games. But they can get beaten some time along the way and still take the cake and the cherry from the top of the cake, right?

Jackets and Lightning heading into the FIFTH overtime period!  Whoever wins the game, that is a huge momentum shift.

Habs Flyers series 1 - 1

Bit of a bummer to see the Flyers win the first game but dayum....did they ever get their asses kicked in game 2! 5 -0... tinywhat

The Habs coach having had chest pains and being hospitalized must have had something to do with it, but still....dayum...

Good series so far!!

Yeah, not sure what that game was.  I guess they were due for a bomb, they'll bounce back tomorrow.

Hart is the real deal, but he also needs his team playing defense in front of him, which the Flyers have been doing since they hired Vigneault as coach.  The past 10 years of Flyers coaching, team-defense has been pathetic.

Ironically, Hart's idol is....Price tinysure

And also, ironically again, after winning a game 5-0, the Habs totally forgot how to score for the two next games. Mind you, the posts were Hart's best friend in game #3.

They might make a comeback tonight but I'm not holding my breath. :)

True, Montreal hit 3 or 4 posts in that game.

It ain't over till it's over, the Flyers came back from 3-0 to the Bruins not so long ago.

Touché! A 5-3 win for the Habs means they get to live another game tonight. If they win, the last game is going to be exciting as hell.

Crossing fingers, mate. Crossing fingers.

They gave us fits, that's for sure.  Montreal will hold a special place in everyone's hearts for knocking out the pens!

LOL

Quote:Mike Milbury’s sexist comments during the broadcast of Thursday night’s Dallas Stars Calgary Flames playoff games earned NBC’s NHL analyst a rebuke, but not a suspension.

Play by play broadcaster John Forslund was putting a positive spin on life inside the NHL’s two postseason bubbles during the game telecast and said: “If you think about it, it’s a terrific environment with regard to -- if you enjoy playing and enjoy being with your teammates for long periods of time, it’s a perfect place.”

Milbury, who has a history with shoes, then put his foot in his mouth and responded: “Not even any woman here to disrupt your concentration.”
