Update Vol 7.

FauxMulder gets a win! Congrats!!

Beez becomes the only Runner Up with 25 points.

IAMTAT joins the 20 Points Club.

FauxMulder becomes the Narrator of Vol 8 BUT since we have Writer's Contest Finals tomorrow, Vol 8 will only start Friday or Saturday.

We will need 2 Players to dig into Faux's claims...

Taking names now.. tinybiggrin

Player #1 it is! I somehow feel like you wish to increase that divide between you and the Runner Up, don't you? Wise...

Were you a lawyer before? I think you found a loophole in the game rules...

I was going to say that since you lost, you must skip a turn BUT...

Quote:- The Player that has discovered the lie becomes the Narrator for the next game. The other player must skip a turn before returning to the Challenges.

No mention of a Narrator losing...hmmm....

Player #2 it is, unless (as you have asked) a new member wants to jump in and give it a try.

Sometimes feel like a judge, jury, executioner with this thing...

I'm good with skipping this one.
Please give the second slot to someone else.

Well actually, I'm glad this came up. I will let it that Narrators that lose DO NOT have to skip a turn and here's why:

The Narrator's job is the one that is the most difficult. He has to really think to find two solid outrageous and / or outlandish claims. Then coming up with an outlandish lie, and upholding that lie throughout the game is not always simple. Finally, the odds are against him or her, no matter what, as 66% of the chances are that one of the Players will find the lie.

Yet, the Narrator only gets 5 points, same as a Player that loses.

For those reasons, I will add this addendum to the rules, in the official OP. Narrators DO NOT need to skip a turn when they lose BUT they are only eligible for the Player #2 spot, if available.

That actually makes a lot of sense.
I'm glad it came up.

That said...I will still step aside if a brand new player wants the spot.

Hey...Just a thought as a possible fine tuning of the rules...
IF the Narrator WINS...he gets 30 points...yes?

SINCE the Narrator automatically has a 66% (2/3) chance of losing...would it not make more sense to give a hard-working Narrator that loses, 10 points (1/3 of the full prize)...instead of 5 points?

Thanks, Tat, but I'm staying right here and watching you make it to the top!!

I know I'm being a pain in the ass...but another RULES thought.

While I have personally benefitted from the 'FIRST player guesses the answer first...and the SECOND player MUST choose a different answer' rule...it really does short change the SECOND player.
I know Beez probably wanted to guess the same answer as Faux in the match I Narrated.

WHAT IF...BOTH players guess the SAME answer...and it turns out to be the correct choice...The MOD (you) flips a coin to decide who wins?

Just a thought to open participation.
As it stands...the FIRST slot seems to be jumped on immediately by potential players...but the SECOND one, not so much.

THIS change makes for an even playing field for BOTH players.

@iamtat I was wondering if @beez was going to pick the same one.

You could also split the points if they choose the same claim. That adds a little incentive to still pick a different answer and possibly get the more points. Just a thought.

I will have new rules implemented before the new game starts. Thank you for the suggestions, that's not being a pain in the ass, that's trying to improve a good game that is already a lot of fun. Gordi, you might say? Now, he's a pain in the ass...!!

As for your previous request, you don't even wanna know what was said in the background, when it comes to players OR narrators losing... tinylaughing tinylaughing tinylaughing

Even god ol' Snarl participated in the blood bath suggestions!!

@"DuckforcoveR" @"beez" @"Ahabstar" @"IAMTAT" @"TheRedneck" @"FauxMulder" @"Snarl"

Please refer to the new set of rules in the OP. Many changes, out of the good suggestions we've received!!

Hopefully, it'll make the Rogue Cup Challenges better than what they already are!!

All new rules apply as of today, July 17th, 2020 and are NOT retroactive. (Including points)

FauxMulder will be the Narrator for Vol 8, DuckforcoveR will be Player #1. As no new member has asked to participate in the upcoming Game, IAMTAT will get to be Player #2.

FauxMulder, you may start your Game at your convenience.

Good Luck to ALL !!!
