Come Celebrate Spooky Season With Me
#41
This year I'm going to persuade Boy In A Dress to forego his concerns of the flying Furies that come to torment
his little shed and chance his luck with a small pail and costume to celebrate Halloween.

For a number of years, BIAD used to receive a telephone call from someone he never related to me who it was,
but I knew it always left him shaken. Twice I heard John Carpenter's theme music to his Halloween movies and
the upside-down grin from the Man-Girl as he answered this unknown caller in single syllables always smacked
of dread as the eerie music wafted from the earpiece.

Then the flapping things came and being the same colour as the October night, the trio of winged-demons were
difficult to see as they swarmed around Boy In A Dress' abode and called out rude names to the terrified Man/Girl.
Half a decade has passed since that terror arrived and maybe this year will be no different.

Still, in a witch's hat, a bin-liner for a cloak and a rubber nose strapped to where his real one should be, I'll coax
the hesitant hermaphrodite from the garden and he can enjoy the magic that Halloween is really about. The stuff
we call joy.

Luckily, I've several mouse-traps for his shed roof and maybe that will get BIAD on the scoreboard of retaliation.
