I studied hydrogeology in a failed attempt at grad school for a while. Totally interesting. The amount of water moving under our feet would surprise most people.
My concern with Bigfoot moving in cave systems is the Bigfoot's size. Supposedly they are a huge species. While some cave caverns can be quite large, the majority of cave systems are relatively small as they facilitate the movement (either now or at some point in time) of water. Not huge mammals.
I accept their movement in cave systems may be a new phenomena due to the recent explosion of the human population. Evolution has not had a chance to catch up yet.
