And that is all because water follows a path of least resistance, and the directions of that path may be least suspected by a cursory examination of the now surface.
This is what I find fascinating, a whole network to travel through -be it Bigfoot or humans.
I would be certainly disappointed if the basics of the account I.E the length and range of the tunnels, were just
imagined to create a backdrop for the story as it allows us a glimpse into a reality-based world and the suggestion
of a large humanoid residents is merely peripheral.
But as Ninurta offered, if the water-courses follow a path of least resistance, wouldn't it be prudent for a human-avoiding
creature to do the same?
