Hummers, Those Strange Sounds

I was reading a story about a group of people on line calling themselves "Hummers" because of the strange sounds the hear and record.
I do believe some of these sounds can be explained because of high tension lines and strong winds.
What do you think? Do you hear these sounds?

Eerm, thought this thread was about something else 

We've had reports of 'the hum" here in Northern Ontario for years. I've never been able to hear it myself though.

I think there is something to it though.
