So where do you land?

That is unhealthy for my mind and I will never see real arguments from people opposite me or truly form my own thoughts, I love to consume what people think and why, then figure out where my thoughts/beliefs fall.

I pretty much know why I think and feel the way I do,  I guess that is why I become so inquisitive when others have a different opinion. 

I find it is more difficult to have civil conversations today because many seem to think asking them why they feel the way they do, is a direct personal attack.

I was really put in my place a while back when I tried to explain, I was asking, because I didn't see it the same way, and was hoping they could make me see the errors in my thinking. I was told that no one gave a damn about what I thought, and I was part of the problem, if I couldn't see that Trump was the only person that could get us out of this mess and save our country. 

Now the day before my soon to be sister-in-law informed me that Trump was Satan himself, and we were all doomed if we didn't get him out of the White House. 

Both were red faced angry ready to go ballistic. There was only recourse for me. I poured them a glass of wine,  and one for myself. I sat down and asked, "Rummikub"?

This is the thing with politics nowadays and people too invested in it, you can rarely have a normal conversation, and if you are opposed in beliefs to someone, suddenly that relationship can change, it's happened to me over and over, as soon as someone finds out where I lean.
When I post on a left leaning place, it's upvotes galore and people being overly friendly as long as I tow the line. I really can't stand that shit, there's nothing honest about an echo chamber, it just becomes a place of mass delusion. I'd rather be in a place where people dislike me and there's a few like me or who don't give a damn where I sit.

I am much like you at the end there, I'm not gonna fight you over your beliefs, they're yours and mine are mine, but I'm still interested in you, lets have some fun instead.
