That's an excellent point.

Of course this all revolves around our choices. At the end of the day we are only entitled to our responsibilities. What then are we entitled to when we shirk our responsibilities?

What happens to the country if a critical mass decide the responsibility of citizenship just isn't worth it? I think I know how these dictatorships arise from a substrate of liberty. It's the burden of responsibility that pushes some toward the ease of being led by a chain.

Fuck. We don't stand a chance.

If people have the mind-set that they "don't stand a chance", then they don't.

I would direct them (in any country) to go listen to President Trump's speech last night at Mount Rushmore.
Sometimes people just need to be reminded what a great nation we are and how we made it this far.

Light that flame of patriotism under their asses and make them "willing" to continue the fight. I, for one, will never give up my freedom and bend the knee to any socialist democrat trying to change our culture.

Against such power, no liberty could be long-lived at all. That's why the price of freedom is eternal vigilance. These aren't abstract concepts. They are playing out before our eyes.
'They' are just a bunch of chuckle-heads.  There's not even that many of 'em.

I _am_ concerned about the people who are teaching 'values' to our kids throughout their educational years.  I believe we need to consider extreme violence in taking our schools away from 'them'.  The lesson has to be taught.  No school-affiliated activity should have any say so over how a community is taxed.  One breath of it ... and you become a non-citizen.

I _am_ concerned about the militarization of the police.  I believe if a militarized solution is a necessity ... then a military action should be orchestrated ... via the militia.  I'm ready to take guns away from cops.  I might concede them a .38 wheel-gun for self-defense (and I don't care if they're carry a Glock 20 and an AR once they take the uniform off).  I don't think cops are entitled to wear anything resembling the military's insignia of grade.  Let 'em wear special badges or sumpin' ... but the first bad step they took was pinning on the stars, bars and stripes our Troops use.  No more Captain this-and-that.  No more Sergeant/Lieutenant.  Find other ranks to use.

I am concerned with the corruption tacitly accepted in the misuse of our tax dollars.  No one should be allowed to live who has benefitted from such malfeasance.  Enslave those bastards and their families (you will probably never hear stronger or more detestable words from me ... even I am offended by them).  Once the guilty have been punished (I'm looking directly at you Boehner and Ryan), eliminate the 16th Amendment.  No more IRS hands in the individual's pocket ... frikkin ever!!

These things I'm talking about are the cure ... not some pantywaist interim measure that treats the symptoms.  Set examples.  Burn people at the stake in the public square ... especially those people who have trifled with public trust.  Strip them of their citizenship, strip them of all rights ... and dispense with their goat-smellin' asses ... shackle-up any conspirators.  The law doesn't punish these types.  Hasn't for as long as my memory goes back.  That means screw reforms ... we are way overdue for a total re-set of the law.
'Cause if they catch you in the back seat trying to pick her locks
They're gonna send you back to Mother in a cardboard box
You better run!
