However, in terms of its share of the population, it is more common for blacks to be killed in a police intervention than whites are hit.

The police shoot fire and Tyler is killed. The police lack a body camera, so the shooting is not documented on film, and Tyler is found to be unarmed after the incident.
The police involved are taken out of service while the incident is being investigated. But beyond that, the shooting did not result in much more than a brief press release on the Hamilton county sheriff's office website, a note on the local television station's website as well as another figure in statistics compiled by media such as The Washington Post and uploaded to the site github.
On the local police authority's Facebook page , the support for the police is overwhelming. "Thank God our blue-clad boys were not injured," read in a comment on the shooting death. Only a few people go against the current and are critical. "Because he wasn't a violent guy. This is a tragedy!" writes a young woman.
Every year, more than a thousand people are killed by police in the United States. Nobody knows exactly how many because the statistics are incomplete, even though the 1994 Congress decided to start keeping statistics on those killed by police officers. Instead, it is various media players, such as The Washington Post and The Guardian, who collect and compile statistics on their own initiative.
According to the Washington Post's summary, 1004 people were killed by police in 2019. 370 of them were white, 235 black and 158 Hispanic. Over the past three years, 1226 whites, 667 blacks and 485 Latin Americans have been killed by police. More than 300 of them were unarmed and nearly one hundred in eighteen years. Although most people who die are white, black death victims are greatly overrepresented in the statistics based on their share of the population.
On some occasions, really young children are victims, such as when six-year-old Kameron Prescott 2017 was shot to death by police when he was playing in his room. Cameron and his family accidentally ended up in the middle of a police hunt for a wanted woman who had nothing to do with them at all.
On average, between two and three people are killed each day by police in the United States. But it is mainly when blacks are killed by police, under medially-aware circumstances, that it leads to violent protests and unrest. As recently as in Minneapolis as a result of the death of 46-year-old George Floyd in a hard-hitting police raid. Similarly, St. Louis, Missouri, of riots and riots on several occasions in 2014 in connection with the killing of black citizens by police officers. The most famous incident that year was when 18-year-old Michael Brown was shot to death by a police officer after he robbed a neighborhood store
