New Zealand Terrorist Attack On Mosques.
#45
Just after the New Zealand incidents, the media reported in the UK that a Mosque was vandalised by having
its windows smashed. Many -including the Police, assumed it was a copycat-style terror-attack by far-right
extremists.

Apparently it wasn't and we're back to the 'mental issues' claim.

'The Birmingham mosque attacks are not being treated as acts of far-right terrorism, cops have confirmed.
A man, who handed himself in to a police station, is currently being detained under the Mental Health Act.
Five mosques in the city had windows smashed last week, days after a far-right gunman shot 50 worshippers dead
at two mosques in Christchurch., New Zealand.

The Witton Islamic Centre, the Masjid Faizul Islam, the Jam-E-Masjid, Muslim Community Centre Aston and Al-Habib Masjid
were targeted. A 34-year-old man handed himself into West Midlands Police and was arrested along with another 38-year-old
on suspicion of racially aggravated criminal damage.

The 38-year-old arrested was later released without charge while the 34-year-old remains in custody.
Cops worked with the West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit to carry out a full probe as fears of a copycat attack were sparked.

Last night officers confirmed: "West Midlands Police is not seeking anyone else in relation to the attacks, we are satisfied they
were not motivated by right wing extremism and are not being treated as terror-related.

"A separate investigation has been launched after police were alerted to criminal damage at a mosque on Cromer Road,
Balsall Heath at 6.30am on Saturday morning (23 March). "The incident is not being linked to the mosque attacks on Thursday
21 March."

Locals told of their fears after the mosques were attacked, one taking place while a family were inside.
Naib Hussain, Secretary of Mosque and Muslim Community Centre in Aston, told The Sun Online: “With Friday prayers we’re fearful
-we have up to 400 people at our mosque and up to 100 children.
"If there was to be a copycat New Zealand-style attack it could be even worse.
"We need protection from our police officers.”...'
