What a load of bullshit. There is a basic rule in intelligence work ( indeed the same rule works well in normal life )
The simplest/easiest way of doing thing is often the best and safest.
Once out of Iran, new passport, tidy him up, pass him off as a business man traveling with two other "business" men, use a train first class across Europe, then when in France, first class train to England.
It seems that the people who organised this "trip" wanted to make things more exciting to make themselves more important. or perhaps its just a cover story, but then why tell the story at all ??
