Music Is Sadder Today Than Bygone Times.
#2
I remember a report a few years ago that the vocabulary of the British youth had dropped to well under 300 words. Its a good bet that its the same in the USA. Also another report said that music has become more simple. Put these things together and the only way to express feelings wile using such limited music and words is to be negative. Its very hard to express joy and positive feelings with such limited resources.
Think about rap music, its limited music with limited words and best expresses hate and anger.
I put two old songs as exsample of the complex use of words to express, I doubt most young people even understand what the songs are about.
