London, The Eager Twin Of San Francisco.

Mayor Khan's assurances that we'd all get used to the stabbings in London has worked and
the odd incident is merely mentioned now. Isn't multiculturalism an easy thing to accept?
(You don't have to answer that.)

But the trafficking of people from far-and-wonderful lands is also taking a bit of a hit since the
discovery of the dead Vietnamese people in the back of a truck, so let's take a look at the
'crackdown'.

'Two children were among seven suspected victims of human trafficking who have been rescued
by police after concerns were raised about people working in barber-shops in London.
A Met Police investigation was launched after concerns were raised over several barber-shops in
north-west London.

The operation to search for possible victims of human trafficking involved 100 people, including social
services, immigration, the NHS and charities.
No arrests were made, the Met said...'

No arrests...? Of course not. The Police would never get out of the street alive.

Quote:'....The force said it had been working on the safeguarding of "vulnerable people" for four months before
it visited addresses in the Brent, Barnet and Harrow council areas on 12 February.

The suspected victims found there were escorted to a nearby reception centre, where they received medical
treatment and support, police said.

Acting Det Ch Insp Mark Rogers said: "Human trafficking, modern slavery and sexual exploitation often occur
in plain sight, and it is often the case those carrying out these offences exploit those from less fortunate
backgrounds who have travelled to our county for a better life.

"I hope this operation continues to raise the public's awareness of these shocking crimes, and sends a clear
message to those involved that we will work with all agencies and law enforcement to identify and bring them
to justice."...'
BBC:

Yep, it sends a clear message alright!
...........................................

However, there's an effort in the north to attempt in assisting the Police dealing with the problem of open borders.
Vigilant taxi-drivers in a town already dealing with grooming gangs... I wonder why this wasn't brought in thirty
-years-ago?'
Oh yeah, that's right... things' were different back then.

Quote:Bolton taxi drivers trained to spot signs of human trafficking and abuse.

'Three quarters of Bolton's taxi drivers have signed up to a new scheme aimed at training them to spot signs of
human trafficking and child sexual exploitation. Trust2Ride teaches drivers how to respond if they feel like someone
might be at risk.
So far, 1,480 licensed drivers in Bolton have booked onto a course from an overall total of 1,900.

Cllr Anne Galloway, Bolton Council’s executive cabinet member for environmental regulatory services, said:
“Hackney Carriage and private hire drivers are professionals and the welfare of their passengers is a top priority.

“Their work brings them into contact with a diverse range of Bolton residents and licensed drivers are uniquely
placed to spot if vulnerable passengers ay risk and alert the relevant agency. “We are well on the way to having
all licensed drivers in Bolton accredited and I urge the remaining drivers to sign-up for the free training immediately.

“Passengers should have the confidence of knowing when they get in a vehicle they will be safe and supported.”

The course launched in Bolton last year and is free for all existing drivers who sign up before June 2020. Bolton
Council eventually aims to make the training compulsory. Training provider Personnel Checks has already held
16 sessions at Bolton Arena, with all delegates successfully completing the course so far.

Other topics covered in the training include disability awareness training, driver and passenger safety, and
recognising indicators of concern and types of abuse. Charles Oakes, of the Hackney Drivers Association, said:
“Our members are committed to providing the best possible service to passengers, and that means taking every
opportunity to learn new skills.

“The training has been very informative and was received positively by all drivers.”
Yasif Khan, of the Bolton Private Hire Association, said: “We are very happy with how training has gone so far.
“Plenty of drivers have already booked on and we encourage those who haven’t to book as soon as possible to
make the most of free training in these key areas.”...'
