'Officers raced to 11.39pm on Tuesday after a man, 50, was stabbed in the mouth in Tottenham Town Hall.
Paramedics treated the man, who was attacked at a gathering, shortly after the stabbing.
The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening.
One man has been arrested on suspicion of GBH and has been hauled into custody.
No further details about the man have been released. Police remain at the scene.
A Met Police spokesman said enquiries are ongoing.
