How is that "dialog"? It's like saying "you can talk, but we're not going to listen". Around here, we call that a "monologue", not a "dialog".

They said the ministers instead spoke about adapting security forces for future protests.

I was once told that diplomacy is the fine art of saying "nice doggie" until you can get your hand on a big rock. France seems to be saying nice doggie, let's dialog" while they are feeling around on the ground for that big rock.

Hours before, Mr Macron headed straight to the Arc de Triomphe, where city employees had scrubbed
off some of the graffiti, from the airport where he arrived after the Buenos Aires G20 summit.

Just a thought, but did macron fly to Buenos Aires in a 'lectric plane? Or did he puke out about a ton of carbon to get there? "Let them eat cake" comes to mind in this scenario...

Violence created his country as it is today. He might ought to pay attention to the events leading up to that revolution... and perhaps more particularly, the initial results of that revolution.
