I meant to add that Macron came up with an idea (probably the EU Commission told him to) that if any
French citizen purchased an electric car, the French Government would give them 4000 euros ($4527.01)
towards buying it.

One of these vehicles was given to a Journalist for his family to use on a holiday and they had to take their
own car because there was not enough luggage space. The Journalist's wife drove their own car and got to
their destination in half the time.

These Government idiots believe everyone lives in a city.

You know, I seriously doubt that there are enough of these electric vehicles to supply the demand Macron is trying to create, even just for France. .. but it is alleged that is about to change. Both GM and Ford are fantasizing that electric cars are the future of the auto industry, and to that end GM has already started getting rid of jobs in the internal combustion industry, and Ford is soon to follow. So much for the communist "workers paradise" - it's tough to create a workers paradise by putting folks out of work, and it's the left that is pushing these substandard vehicles so hard, even though there are not enough of them to make a dent in the "global warming" hysteria.

They have neither the range, nor the power, and certainly not the speed, to compete with gasoline engines. I have a suspicion that the left is pushing them so hard for that very reason - to assist in controlling the populace by curtailing their mobility. For example, to go visit my son and grand kids, it's an 8 hour drive in a real car. I'm not willing to kill off 4 days of my vacation time (two there and two back) to make that trip in a 'lectric when I can do it in 8 hours simply by driving a real vehicle. On the plus side, there won't be a cop on the planet that can catch me in a 'lectric if I'm zooming along in a real car, so I have no fear of getting arrested for breaking carbon laws!
