You know, this "fake news" topic has been brought to the front of my mind again. I've not seen any news at all for a couple of weeks now beyond passing a screen at work that flashes stuff on it, but there was buzz yesterday evening about some drone China apparently took, and everyone was all up in arms about it and ready to go to war over it, and Obama was threatening Russia with "retaliation" (they really ought to be more careful about how many wars they are trying to spark off at a time - there's such a thing as carrying capacity, y'know?).
So anyhow, I decided to scope out some news at home this morning to see what is going on, and apparently this "fake news" thing is a real thing they are actually trying to push. I've not seen this much hysteria from a regime losing ground in America in my life time, and it's hard to believe that Progressives have gained this strong of a toe hold on what used to be a free nation.
So apparently, such platforms as Facebook have now decided to "vet" news links as fake or not fake for purposes of dissemination, and they are using such stalwarts as Snopes, ABC, and the Washington Post to decide which news is "fake", and if determined so, not to be allowed distribution. That's like hiring the fox to guard the hen house, isn't it?
Once upon a time in America, a story would go out, and it was up to the recipient to vet it for veracity, to determine using their own minds and research whether it was "true" or "fake". Americans were deemed smart enough to determine it themselves. I find it insulting in the extreme that Progressives no longer accord us that ability, and think they have to think FOR us, that they are so much smarter than we are.
You know who else "vetted" news stories as fake or real for purposes of distribution? That's right - the Soviet Union. Back then, we called that "censorship" and were appalled at it. Now the Progressives are DOING it, and thinking it's ok now. Well, if it wasn't ok then, it ain't ok now either. Just another of many, many links between Progressives and Soviets, just another indicator of how strongly the NeoSoviets have seized control of America.
