A woman has been rushed to hospital with "multiple stab wounds" following a savage attack in the capital.
'Officers raced to Burns Road, in Wandsworth, following reports of a stabbing at 8.11pm on Sunday.
When they arrived police found a woman, believed to be in her 20s, who was understood to have been
attacked by a man who fled.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: “The victim was taken to a south London hospital.
“We await an update as to her condition.” A man later presented himself to police in Notting Hill and was
arrested in connection with the attack.
He is being held on suspicion of GBH and remains in custody.
At about 6.30pm another woman was stabbed in Acadia Grove, Dulwich.
Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
No arrests have been made. The capital has been reeling from numerous stabbings since January this year.
Figures have now soared to a seven-year high and officials confirmed there had been 1,299 stabbings by April.
The Met Police said it had confiscated 250 knives and swords on just one week alone in February.
It is believed the majority of the violence has been due to cocaine and other drugs flooding into the country. ..'
