The dog's tale is weird and fifteen miles deep!
It reminds me of this:
A Devil Of A Job.

Yeah, and what about that creature that came out of the sheep?    

I don't know what to think about this story. My logical mind tells me it's fake, but then, there were some things in there about the strange things emitting from the hole that I've read about in other scientific articles, especially the ice that burns.  Weird.
