The Montana Wolf-Dog Mystery.
#3
A bit OT but here is some news from Finland ( yesterday) about a wolf that came too close to a 2 year old playing in the garden, it was a good think the father was there. Its translated from Finnish by google translate so its not very good English.
Lots of people who know nothing about wolfs or nature think wolfs will never come near or attack humans, a wolf is a hunter it will take what ever easy food it can find, a child or a person on there own is easy food. This does not make the wolf bad, its a hunter it what it does.

Quote:The wolf came about 15 to 20 meters from the two-year-old child in Inkoo. The father interviewed by Ylli says he had been out with his son at 11.30 am when he noticed the wolf approaching his son.

- It was coming to the boy on the hill. Fortunately, I happened to look at it, Dad tells in YLE's interview.

The father drove  the wolf away and went inside with the boy. The father called the emergency center, and the police patrol came in, but the wolf had already run away.

The police investigated, measured and photographed the place where the wolf observation was made.

According to the father, there have been some traces of wolves in the area in the winter, but now the wolf came for the first time close to humans.

The police and the game center can impose a safe area where wolfs can be killed or relocated if they pose a danger or cause a serious injury.

The authorities will count all sightings and trace observations of less than 100 meters of living or farming animal husbandry.
YLI is the government broadcaster, a bit like the BBC . Inkoo is an area in Finland
