Good news! One more thing to make child pornography traffickers think twice.

Hatch released a statement Friday when President Donald Trump signed the Amy, Vicky, and Andy Child Pornography Victim Assistance Act into law.
"I’m thrilled the President has signed the Amy, Vicky, and Andy Act into law," Hatch stated. "This is a momentous day and many years in the making."
The senator introduced the legislation alongside Senators Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), Chuck Grassley (R-IA), Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), John Cornyn (R-TX) amd Pat Toomey (R-PA). The bill will recognize the "unique kind of harm caused by child pornography" and requires restitution in a manner that will support the victims, stated the Friday press release. Hatch also stated:
Quote:This bipartisan legislation will provide meaningful assistance for child pornography victims to support their recovery and allow them to reclaim their lives. I am proud of this legislation and look forward to seeing it change the world for good.
The legislation will establish more relevant standards for child pornography victims who seek restitution from defendants and give victims the alternative of a one-third fixed compensation payment from the existing Crime Victims Fund. The bill will also allow victims access to images depicting them, which can be important for victim identification, expert testimony, forensic review and treatment.
