Yeah the snake thing blew my mind the first time I heard about it. A few years later it was highlighted on Ancient Aliens, so needless to say it got mocked and laughed at every time I brought it up. Complete with the meme of "therefore, it's aliens" every time I brought it up.

Laugh it off.  There will always be skeptics vs. believers; it's what makes the world go round and gives us some good debates to ponder too.
If we know we're right, someday they will know too; just not now.
