'This is the shocking moment a brazen moped gang try to rob a biker on a busy dual
carriageway before a witness slams his car into them forcing them to flee.
The driver sends the two moped thugs flying as he hits the back of their bike seconds
after they appeared to try and force a biker from his vehicle.
The footage is believed to have been filmed on the victim's helmet-cam as he travelled
down the North Circular in Barnet, London, earlier this month.
It shows the biker pull up a junction alongside two masked men, who appear to be in
their teens, riding a moped. One of the thugs climbs off the bike and appears to try
and push the rider from his bike.
As the moped gang seem to abandon the theft a silver car hits the back of their vehicle
sending them flying. The gang scramble back on their moped and flee the scene.
The footage was passed to Sun Online by the UK Theft Motorcycle Group as bike gangs
continue to terrorise London.
Last month two have-a-go heroes who tried to stop a bike theft spoke to Sun Online after
they were brutally stabbed when a teen moped gang ambushed them.
The latest attack comes amid pleas for action after a series of knife and acid attacks by
blatant bike thieves across the capital.
Sun Online has previously revealed how teen gangs use social media sites including
Instagram to brag about thefts and flaunt pictures of themselves with huge knives.
Posts from Instagram and other social media showed vehicles are being sold on dirt
cheap just hours after they were nicked, in a bid to evade cops and owners.
Shocking images showing gangs posing with huge knives and bolt cutters as they brag
about thefts are posted alongside messages including "we be working when your sleeping"
and "prepared for the night shift"
Met Police have said 6,822 mopeds and scooters were nicked [stolen] from the streets of
London in the first five months of 2017 - compared to 11,274 in the whole of 2015.
Between 1 July 2016 and June 30 2017 7,512 motorbikes was stolen, up from 5,884 the
year before...'
