Through observation, I have noticed that otherwise intelligent folk, when climbing the corporate
ladder, reach a point where they are forced to wear ties.

Beyond that point, the further they climb, the dumber they get. My theory is that the tie is cutting
off circulation to their brains and they are being permanently dumbed-down via oxygen starvation
to vital thinking tissue.

That's one of the reasons I refuse to wear ties, the other being that I come from a long line of
horse-thieves, and therefore have a genetic aversion to having anything with a slip knot in it tie
around my neck...

Personally, I think the saying 'Clothes maketh The Man' shows that for many, external influence
is more prominent than other forms of discovering what a person is really all about.

It's one of those centuries-old scams that has close ties to covetousness and the need to impress.
If you wear soft shoes to dig a ditch, your feet will hurt. So you wear stout boots in the name of
sensible practicality.

You wear a suit and tie to an office job for... what? What really?
Well, you my have to interact with customers of your business and so, it's socially accepted that
tidiness and a neat attire is supposed to reflect that your personal appearance shows how efficient
that your business is also.
But is that all it is?!

Vanity and power can be said to be strong points.
A strong leader of the past can acquire the biggest sword because of his prowess and his willingness
to oppress or attack the initial owner of that weapon and then because of the way our basic social
structure has been designed from a natural beginning, others will deem it a better chance of survival
to be near and favoured such a dominant person.

Then we will emulate that leader in some form by dressing and acting like them.
We will covet the trappings, valuable metals and furs were the trend of yore and today, we still look
on these things as items to indicate wealth.
Wealth equates to power by many and that's why political figures, Hollywood celebrities don't wear
ditch-digging boots at movie openings!!

It's a age-old con, clothes maketh the man when in reality, man maketh the man.
