When I was about eleven years old. I showed my Mother with the use of a globe and and an atlas, that the land masses on our Earth were once one complete land mass, that had to broken up over time.
I had to laugh when he said that it was so obvious that even a child could see it. I think that every child at one time or another has had that conversation with a parent or teacher, and every time, they laughed at us and rejected our obvious observation, as just the result of a child's imagination.
I didn't understand at the time where the water came from, but back around 2014 I ran across an article that spoke of this observation, and suddenly it all made sense.
