Queen Elizabeth's Health - gordi - 09-08-2022 The BBC in the UK has suspended its normal programming schedule to cover the latest developments in the deterioration of HM Queen Elizabeth II's health. The Royal Family have been called to join her at her Balmoral Estate in Scotland. All indications are that this is being taken very seriously by everyone concerned. Many hundreds of people have gathered outside Buckingham Palace in London too. She is 96 years old now. LINK to LIVE UPDATES on The Guardian website G RE: Queen Elizabeth's Health - BIAD - 09-08-2022 Will Charles be up to it or will he do a 'Edward & Mrs Simpson'?! RE: Queen Elizabeth's Health - DISRAELI - 09-08-2022 "Doctors are concerned about her health". That means it's pretty serious. This is exactly the kind of situation in which understatement will come into play. The frankness of the doctors of Geroge V ("The king's life is drawing peacefully to its close") is a famous exception. RE: Queen Elizabeth's Health - gordi - 09-08-2022 The QUEEN HAS DIED. Pros and cons. Personally, I liked her. Canadians are no longer big fans of the monarchy though. May she Rest In Peace. Now to King Chuck and then King Bill…. RE: Queen Elizabeth's Health - senona - 09-09-2022 The Queen has lived a long life, ruling 70 of those years -- now it is time for Charles to step up and take over Thoughts and prayers to her family and to the people RE: Queen Elizabeth's Health - BIAD - 09-09-2022 One wonders how the next pound sterling will look for many countries around the world that sport the late-Queen's image and of any impact (like the sudden fall of the pound in markets recently) will derive from her death. Also, the lyrics of Great Britain and its Commonwealth anthem will alter too, along with numerous items like passports. Quote:Huw Edwards 'practised announcing the death of the Queen in the bathroom mirror'Archived Daily Mail Article: If the report of the Queen's death was fairly sudden -regardless of the BBC's concerns of her ill-health, where did Huw Edwards get the black suit, white shirt and black tie from? Do news-outlets have the appropriate clothing for 'celebrity' deaths that fit any sized news Presenter reporting on that particular day? By the way, all news readers on all the UK channels wore the same style of attire. How did such a coincidence occur...? Unless certain parties within the established media agreed to do so. She had a sober head set squarely on her shoulders. I have no faith at all, exactly zero, in king Chucky III to rule wisely, but again, not MY monarch, so I really have no dog in that fight. He seems to have got his start in the vein of Henry VIII, killing off one wife so he could take another, and then he went downhill from there, getting all varieties of "woke", which no good sovereign can afford to do. You cannot take off on flights of fancy that will hurt the subjects and at the same time, be considered a good king. So now, he and his "queen consort", which I consider to be more of a concubine than anything, a gold-digger trading ass for cash and power, will sit on the throne. Let the good times roll. . RE: Queen Elizabeth's Health - BIAD - 09-11-2022 I worry about poor Prince Andrew. The island is closed off, Ghislaine is scissoring it with Big Brenda behind bars and I presume Virginia Giuffre won't be answering his letters. All that's left is the PizzaExpress in Woking to take his orders. With his inability to sweat due to an "adrenaline overdose" during the Falklands War, 'Handy-Andy' seems to have been left out of the hullabaloo. I don't think it was just a coincidence that he used the name of that town. Andrew was living in Sunninghill, over eight miles to Woking and for an unsecured pizza-store in downtown Woking to take his daughter on the exact time he was supposedly stupping an underage girl, it just doesn't smell right. Could he have been kidnapped travelling there or even in the place...? I hope I'd have come up with a better tale to avoid such accusations than using a name like 'Woking'!! RE: Queen Elizabeth's Health - FlyingClayDisk - 09-11-2022 Personally, I don't think Charles is going to be well received by his people, and/or the World (...at all). I fully expect Brexit to take on a whole new dimension, and this time it won't be just "talk". He's a straight-up globalist. That's not going to sit well with many. In an odd way, the clock just got turned back about 78 years...and the 'Hitler' figure ain't dead yet! Except the name ain't 'Hitler'. I hope I'm wrong, but that's the way things are headed right now...on an Express train! I agree with @"MisterSpock" that The House of Windsor has a lot of money and that Money Talks while bullshit walks. While I'm genuinely sad the Queen has passed, I am sadder still that Chuckleberry survived her. Maybe now that he's a Monarch he'll rethink a Nationalist approach and distance his country from Clown World.
