50 migrants, Oregon & Spooky flights to Martha's Vineyard
#1
I'm trying not to get too lost in the weeds on this since just the act of luring all these migrants and flying them all over based on false promises is clearly atrocious. Then there's stuff like this that just makes it all really strange.

I'm not pretending I know what in hell is going on here, because I don't. But I find it really bizarre. Need one of those bell curve Wojak memes where the enlightened monk arrives back to, "Florida is a cursed spooky state."

Somethin smells in Oregon...

HILLSBORO, Ore. — The state of Florida paid $615,000 to an Oregon-based aviation company to fly 50 Venezuelan migrants to Massachusetts as part of the state's "relocation program to transport illegal immigrants to sanctuary destinations," according to Florida government records.

Vertol Systems Company is registered through the Oregon Secretary of State's office under a Hillsboro address.

On Friday, the VSC website said it was founded in 1996 and based out of Hillsboro, although the web page later became inaccessible.

KGW visited addresses listed for the company on Friday but no one answered.

The primary place of business listed for Vertol Systems Company on its Oregon Secretary of State corporation filing is a residential home in Hillsboro, although the company's website lists a location in Destin, Florida as well.

The website said VSC provides customers with "specialized helicopter and aircraft solutions specific to those organization's unique requirements."

The company's reported involvement in migrant flights brings Oregon into a multi-state clash over immigration policy that's playing out on the national stage.

Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said he flew migrants from Texas to Florida to Massachusetts as part of a relocation program in response to President Joe Biden's "damaging" immigration policies.

"We're going to continue to use every tool in our disposal to insulate the state of Florida from the negative ramifications of [President Biden's] reckless border policies," DeSantis said. "And yes, that involved helping with transport."

In addition to the $615,000 spent on flights to Martha's Vineyard, DeSantis said he will spend up to $12 million on transporting migrants to other states.

"We're going to spend every penny of that to make sure that we're protecting the people in the state of Florida," he said.

Quite possibly meaningless, but the aviation company which got $615k for the big cynical political stunt in Florida this week is based out of Destin, a city with only ~14,000 residents. One of those 14,000 is Bert Rodriguez...

Bert apparently did some drug trafficking as a youth, too, and later trained DEA agents.

Not an inaccessible, complicated textbook or a chatty, feel-good confessional, but rather a book of stories and advice borne from experience and curiosity, which is so true and universal that it can literally change your life.”

Just sayin it's slightly weird that a 9/11 hijacker was trained by a cuban former drug trafficker who taught martial arts to Saudi royalty's security force and assorted spooks & spec ops dudes.

Ziad Jarrah, the hijacker Bert trained, also had a cousin (maybe two) who worked for Israeli intelligence:

Quote:It is not the family’s first brush with notoriety. One of Mr. Jarrah’s cousins, Ziad al-Jarrah, was among the 19 hijackers who carried out the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, though the men were 20 years apart in age and do not appear to have known each other well.

At the start of the 2006 war between Israel and Hezbollah, Israeli officials called Mr. Jarrah to reassure him that his village would be spared and that he should stay at home, investigators said.

Mr. Jarrah has said he was recruited in 1983 — a year after Israel began a major invasion of Lebanon — by Israeli officers who had imprisoned him, according to investigators. He was offered regular payments in exchange for information about Palestinian militants and Syrian troop movements, they said.

In regards to the flights and busses, I don't see that as a "political stunt", but rather as leaders doing the job the national regime refuses to do, and protecting the interests of their own citizenry against an invasive force. I'm all for it - about damned time someone stood up and said "NO!" to invasions.

Sending them to "sanctuary areas" is a stroke of genius. If those Sanctuary folks have been standing up and waving their arms about, claiming to want to provide sanctuary to illegal aliens, then here is there chance - it should work for everyone involved if they are being honest and truthful. The folks that don't want invasions get to ship them to the people that do, or at least claim to, and the illegals themselves have the boon of going to places where they are wanted and welcomed - the very places they broke the law and crashed international borders to get to, and with an all-expense paid trip to get them there. It's a win-win, all the way around.

It's not MY fault, nor is it the fault of DeSantis or Greg Abbot, if the Sanctuary folk were lying through their fuckin' teeth just to be virtue signaling with "virtues" they didn't really posses. Who the hell knew? WE say what we mean and mean what we say, and expect others to at least rise to that same level of honesty when they open their lyin' mouths. Not our fault if they are lyin' pricks. They talked the talk, here's their chance to walk the walk. Not our problem if they fall flat on their faces when push comes to shove.

Now, when the new arrivals get there, and the formerly welcoming Sanctuary folk all of a sudden jump back, gasp "Brown people! Where did these Brown people come from all of a sudden? We didn't really mean it - not in our back yards! Send them back to live among the peons we intended them to live among, not here, not with us!" and then call in the Guard to forcibly deport the new folks from what they billed as "sanctuaries" before sanctuary was actually called upon, and they had to put their money where their lyin' mouths were, well, what the hell? How were we supposed to know unless it got put to the actual test? To quote little Chuckie Schumer - they have sewn the wind, now they can reap the whirlwind.

At the very least, everyone - EVERYONE - from illegals to citizens, ought to be able to see and know that the Empress has a shiny ass, and no clothes on to hide that fact.

If I were one of those new arrivals, I'd be getting on my gummint cell phone about now and calling home to say "I know yer already packed, but unpack. The folks who said they'd welcome us had men with guns come and remove us to 'anywhere else', and ain't as welcoming as they claimed they'd be. Life is gonna be harder here than it is there, so just stay home."

Now, before folks start railing about what a "racist" I am, consider that for a long time, I was the token white guy on a nearly all Hispanic crew. They had me for the Token White, and a black gal for the Token Black, and all was well. Everyone else was Hispanic, from one place or another. Some were legal immigrants, some were illegal aliens, but all of them were good folks. I never asked whether anyone was legal or illegal - that really wasn't any of my business - so if they didn't volunteer the information, I had no idea which they were, and didn't much care. None of them knew for the longest time that I could understand Spanish, because, being in America, I spoke only English. Maybe the boss suspected - she was from El Salvador, and thought the world of me because she knew my history, and it was eerily similar to the history of her favorite uncle. Anyhow, they all figured it out one day in the lunch room when one guy told a joke in Spanish, and I couldn't help but laugh. That was when they figured out I understood everything they'd been saying all along.

One of them, who was here illegally - and I knew that because he was comfortable enough to tell me - had been here 18 years - EIGHTEEN YEARS - illegally, and had never bothered to learn the language. He spoke only Spanish at home, and sought jobs with mainly Hispanic personnel, so that speaking Spanish was not a barrier to him. We used to run all over the city together, thick as thieves, but I never spoke Spanish, even after he knew I could.  We used a lot of sign language to communicate. We were in America, where English is the language, and that is what I would speak. I reserve Spanish for countries where Spanish is the language. Simple.

The Boss lady there used to laugh and tell me that even my Spanish was spoken with a Hillbilly accent.

=======================================================

Now, regarding Bert Rodriguez, I KNOW, from experience, that this paragraph that sounds like BS, ain't:

I can do the same thing, and noticed it first when I was just a teenager. Some folks just have a look about them that can stop some other folks dead in their tracks, and I guess we are just a couple of those guys. I never considered it to be "spiritual" or "occultic", though, as I've been told it is just an expression, a look in the eye or something, that promises instant death if one screws about too hard with me.

It doesn't hurt the impression folks get that if or when they cross that 3 foot barrier around me, it's on, and they'll be off post-haste. "The look" probably comes from the confidence of knowing that will happen, without fail, else I'll die trying. There is no other option once that line is crossed.

Now, I don't go around glowering at everyone all the time. that would just be exhausting. But I AM almost always on heightened alert (and that generally shows, but it's become a way of life), and If I perceive a threat, I go  into a hyper-alert, and here comes "the look". It is reserved for folks who present themselves as a threat, not everyone in general. If folks heed that, all is well, and if they don't, then maybe they will next time.

If there even IS a next time.

Are we talking about people that came here illegally, or people that were invited?

If it is criminal not to house, feed, and clothe, those that come into the country illegally, what do you call it when you don't house, feed, and clothe, those that were born here, have lived here all their lives, and have spent years paying into the system, some even that have fought for this county?

This distortion, and guilt tripping the media is trying to push, has quite the opposite affect on me. And I don't think I am alone in my way of thinking. So, they are either pushing us towards fighting back, or they are pushing us to giving in.

Good morning! This is a confusing thread. I can only comment on the Venezuelans in Martha's Vineyard. Getting my flame suite on  tinybiggrin

I have heard this referred to by the media as "horrific", "illegal", and akin to the "holocaust". Therefore, it must be something running counter-narrative and none of those things mentioned.

In my mind, I need to put it in perspective. These 50 or so folks came here illegally. On their own accord or "invited" makes no difference. If you murder or rape someone because you were invited to do so, makes what difference? The laws were not followed and all involved know that. The legal system is being selectively ignored. What do you call that when laws are not applied to everyone and used only as political leverage?

The thousands who come here every week under the same circumstances venture out over the entire country. Whether ICE buses/fly's them to a destination, illegal criminal networks send them to a destination, or they make their way on their own. We have the governmental authorities, criminal cartels, or individuals all doing the same thing. How did this situation differ in any meaningful way?

I know quite a few folks who are all woke and promote the whole "no humans are illegal", "love over hate", etc. etc. Not one of them is housing illegal immigrants, "international visitors", asylum seekers, or whatever name you care to use. In this case we had the wokies of Martha's Vineyard playing the role of major hypocrites. They felt all virtuous and high minded until that which they promoted from afar landed on their doorstep. NIMBY much? Or maybe the brown people were not manicuring their lawns and or cleaning their toilets? Maybe they need new signs.

You cannot advocate for what is happening at the border (as an individual or a city/state) and then not step up to play a solid role in the easily predictable circumstances. In this case, it seems we have a self-appointed caste of Americans who use this nonsense (see sign below) as a cover for their over inflated sense of importance. They have zero intention of actually living these espoused virtues. Because that is not the point of all this. It is merely a cudgel to beat other people up. To demean them. That is the heart of woke.

Some data to consider. Martha's Vineyard has about 17,000 residents. There were 50 Venezuelans. Del Rio, Texas has about 35,000 residents. In the same month, they experienced 46,000+ "visitors". More than the number of citizens of the town. Yet, all the blue/loving/sanctuary places repeat over and over they cannot handle all these people. They don't have the means. First, if you cannot walk the walk, you need to shut up with the talk. Second, what makes the border towns in Texas or Arizona any different than NYC, DC, or Martha's Vineyard? Nothing. Except that they are far away.

Sorry for the confusion. I tend to go off on tangent connections I find of interest from the past (exoteric & esoteric) while not going too deep on any one angle. I leave it up to the reader to connect dots and/or solely focus on one item of interest if he/she feels so inclined. In my mind all of this in the media is political theater to keep us divided psychologically & spiritually, keep the energy flowing dark to light (which both sides are bad, imo) & sometimes serves as a cover story for clandestine/covert ops. I think we are 'living' through an 'inversion process' right now which is a hardship process they want us all to participate in so at the end they will offer up their technocratic solution.

As to whatever is happening on the border(s) I look to CBP reports & numbers.
Quote:CBP Releases August 2022 Monthly Operational Update

The large number of individuals fleeing failing communist regimes in Venezuela, Nicaragua, and Cuba is contributing to an increased number of migrants attempting to cross the border.

The number of unique individuals encountered nationwide in August 2022 was 157,921, a 2.2 percent increase in the number of unique enforcement encounters compared to the prior month, driven largely by an increased number of asylum seekers fleeing authoritarian regimes in Venezuela, Cuba, and Nicaragua.

That's a good point. You now have this very large, unaccounted-for population roaming the landscape. Even if only 2% are criminals, that's thousands and thousands of criminals. I saw an interview this evening.  The guy talking said the illegal (mind that 'the illegal') population in the US is between 10 and 15 percent of the total population. I can't tell you what the percentage is of people who jumped the border ... but are now in some class that's 'other than illegal' at this point.

Just since the BidenHarris regime took over the reins, there have been 1.7 million last year, and 2.1 million (so far) this year... plus 900,000 "gotaways" over that same time period. That totals out to 4.7 million just in illegals, not factoring in the 2 million (1 million per annum) of legal immigrants over that time period.

2% (using @"Abnarty"'s figure) of 4.7 million is 94,000.

That's a lot of criminal elements.

I might need some bigger abandoned mine shafts.

Depends on whose numbers you use. According to some 'agencies' they're "taking in" 9,000 Illegals per day. That's 3 1/4+ million every year. Then their _gotaway_ ratio is reported to be 2:1. That's another 7 1/2+ million every year. Or, almost 11 million illegals crossing the border per year. And ... they said the real number of illegals inside the border they had lost 'almost' completely started at 35 million.

Again ... that number (if true) is staggering. We're talking 60 million illegals running around amongst a population of 350 million citizens.

Tell ya the truth ... I don't see them in quantity when I go to town. When I was stationed @ Fort Hood (4 decades ago) you could. Dangerous/Lawless folks who would threaten your life as quick as cast a glance your way. Blood's up just thinking about those days.
