I'm sure everyone here remembers some details on the Iran-Contra Affair but, do you remember The Iran-Contra Scandal Trading Cards, 1988.





Back when I was a kid, Ollie North was my hero because I knew next to zero. So, when I recently stumbled across this deck of cards it brought back nostalgic memories. It's amazing how much one can learn from a deck of cards.




If you look-up the term "bad-ass" in the military dictionary you'll find a pic of Army Major General John Singlaub (July 10, 1921 – January 29, 2022). His wet works history and his "Western Goals Foundation", a private intelligence network is off the charts. At age 73 he was also on the team that captured Carlos the Jackal.

I actually have no problem with counter-terrorism operations against communist in central and south America. I do have a big problem with the way it was financed (CIA drug money).

They offered me a job in 1977 to fly fixed and rotor craft at a GS 12 pay grade... That was starting pay which was not to bad back then.. You would top out at GS 16 if I remember correctly ?

At that time in my life I was tired of sneaky Pete BS operations and my trust in American policies was at a low point so I passed on the fun and games. Never have I regretted that decision

GS-12 pay grade back then was not too shabby at all. Wise choice. You may have ended up like Barry Seal.

Just a quick check shows GS pay scales up to GS-15.
