Aldous Huxley: Brave New World Audio
#1
.

A CBS radio drama from 1956 on Huxley's future dystopian vision of humanity, narrated by Huxley. Dude may have been a prophet when I look around me and see where things are headed.

The radio play is about an hour long, and I believe the announcer is probably William Conrad, "Cannon" from the 1970's TV show.

Or, if you prefer the entire book, read by Michael York, it's about 8 hours long:

.
Diogenes was eating bread and lentils for supper. He was seen by the philosopher Aristippus, who lived comfortably by flattering the king.

Said Aristippus, ‘If you would learn to be subservient to the king you would not have to live on lentils.’ Said Diogenes, ‘Learn to live on lentils and you will not have to be subservient to the king.’

Both "videos" are really just audio with splash screens. They're not anything you have to sit and watch, they can just be played in the background While you go about your daily business, It's like having someone read to you as you work.

My trusty earphones, I got from my Brother, get me through a many of tasks.

They even got me through the four hours of mowing I did yesterday, and I didn't even finish.

I get my audio books by downloading them from the library.

For me, it gets the chores done faster.

@Ninurta, I read Brave New World when I was about 12 years old. I never forgot it.

The only other book that hit me as hard was "The Sparrow", by Mary Doria Russell.

For every one person that read this post. About 7.99 billion have not.

Yet I still post.  tinyinlove

Yes, imo more so than George Orwell which he nailed the media, but the Huxley brothers wrote the plan for a future technocratic dystopian world.
Just take the damn soma citizen and STFU, everything will be fine.
