I need to get this off my chest. The Uvalde shooting and the push for more "gun control".
Interesting fact, all the people in US history who pushed for all the gun laws we already have (of which the kid in Uvalde broke dozens), espoused the same rhetoric the current cheerleaders do. It's amazing the American public, for the most part, do not see the pattern. But don't worry Karen, just a little more of the exact same thing and it will all be OK.
If you really cared about the "children", you would care about the kids getting shot in Chicago every single day. Yet all I hear is silence from you. Chicago has so many gun laws they can't keep track of them. Which of those laws do wish to see applied to the rest of the country? All of them? Or do you blame the guns brought in from neighboring areas? You know, where they do not have daily shootings. Do you understand the definition of inconsistency?
Why do you always advocate "solutions" which require the citizen the give up more for no demonstrable benefit? Or are you so immersed in tribalism and media gaslighting that you believe that what you advocate is a beacon to a glorious tomorrow? And it would be better if all those gun-toting, mouth breathing, beasties were exterminated.
Never mind what history shows over and over again. Never mind human nature. Never mind what statistics demonstrate. Never mind they have to bring in actors reading scripts to make you feel a certain way. What is being proposed is virtuous (they say so) and by extension you are virtuous by supporting it.
Doing is hard, taking is easy. Why do you not hear about anything the government will actually DO to attend to public safety? You know, maybe provide some kind of mental health backdrop or something similar. Instead, why do you only hear about what they will take away from you?
You are pissed off about the police response in Uvalde and you are pissed off about the ATF/FBI not doing enough, yet there you are, advocating for more laws and law enforcement from the same bunch of people. Or are you only happy when the FBI goes after those you dislike?
A final thought for you; once the government has taken away all your rights and provided nothing in return, what are your options when something isn't going your way?
