The madness of slow Joe: Sun king edition
#1
Quote:The mad scientists whom Gulliver discovered in Laputa had an interesting project. They sought to extract sunlight from cucumbers.

The mad scientists have nothing on slow Joe, the president of the United States. We are in the middle of a historic rise in the price of gasoline. Prices are rising so fast that, if you didn’t fill up your car yesterday, you’ll be paying more for the privilege today. And slow Joe can take pride in his contribution to our plight.

Biden seized the moment yesterday to order “emergency measures Monday to boost crucial supplies to U.S. solar manufacturers and declared a two-year tariff exemption on solar panels from Southeast Asia as he attempted to jumpstart progress toward his climate change-fighting goals,” as the AP puts it.

Everything about it is wrong with one exception. It represents Biden’s obeisance to the priorities of the lunatic left. That is the only sense in which it is right.

Solar panels are ugly. They are inefficient. They are expensive. They trash the environment. Their manufacture requires and produces toxic chemicals. They are made with slave labor. They are unreliable. They will never make up what fossil fuels contribute to the electric grid.

The Harvard Business Review adds this poignant footnote: “Economic incentives are rapidly aligning to encourage customers to trade their existing panels for newer, cheaper, more efficient models. In an industry where circularity solutions such as recycling remain woefully inadequate, the sheer volume of discarded panels will soon pose a risk of existentially damaging proportions.”

Commandeering American industry on behalf of the production of solar panels raises a question of legality under the Defense Production Act. Assuming the legality of invoking the act in this case, the administration itself appears incapable of articulating a sane rationale on behalf of its actions (video below). The Department of Energy elaborates a rationale here.

We await the president’s multi-trillion dollar plan to extract sunlight from cucumbers. It is the perfect complement to his so-called “clean energy” goals.

REPORTER: "On solar panels; how is this not a gift to Chinese solar manufacturers, many of whom operate with forced labor and are subsidized by the Chinese Communist Party?"

JEAN-PIERRE: "Today's announcement is about one country & one county alone & it's the United States." (Twitter)

I can not think of one thing the idiot in charge has done to Make America Great again !

The Open border invasion and COVID https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/202...texas.html

No drilling yet buy from those who do

add another 5% ethanol to the gasoline mixture (from the 10 to the now mandated 15%) which means fuel mileage will decrease again. Great for all the taxes on fuel even though there is inflation and looming food shortages.

Get all the guns away from the pedestrians so all you will need are two armed fat cops on a search warrant for an arrest

81 million voted for that POS my ass !

I have to agree. The latest suggestion is:

Quote:Joe Biden set to send refugees to Spain as migrant crisis worsens

Washington and Madrid close to securing a deal to relocate immigrants currently on the US-Mexico border

'Joe Biden is poised to agree to a deal to send migrants on the US’s southern border to Spain. The proposals, which officials stress are still under
discussion, could be announced at next week’s Summit of the Americas, as the US president seeks greater global co-operation on the migrant crisis,
which has ballooned during his presidency.

Spain is facing a labour shortage, despite having the highest unemployment rate in the EU at 13.5 per cent. There are more than 100,000 vacancies
in the tourism sector, while the country is short of at least half a million building workers, according to unions and companies. The initial number of
refugees resettled by Spain would be “modest” but “symbolically important”, according to documents seen by Axios, the US news website.

It reported that Spain is also expected to agree to double or triple the number of temporary workers from Central America currently accepted through
an employment-based migration programme. On Thursday, it was still unclear whether those whom Spain might agree to resettle would be required to
apply at US embassies and consulates outside of the US, or whether those who had crossed the border already would be allowed to apply.
Spain has long been a favoured destination for people from Latin America, given the shared language.

In late 2021, there were at least 1.5 million Latin Americans, excluding Brazilians, residing in Spain, of whom 626,000 were born in Central America and
the Caribbean, official data show. Canada, which has a long tradition as a safe-haven country, is also weighing whether to take in larger numbers of
regional refugees and also to increase the number of Haitian workers it allows in, according to the documents. Between 2015 and 2022, Canada welcomed
only 1,500 migrants from the region, but it could announce a new target of 5,000 refugees over a number of years.

One senior Canadian government official told Axios: “Conversations are still ongoing and no decisions have been taken regarding specific commitments on
migration at next week’s summit.” The US is still hammering out a final guest list ahead of next week’s meetings in Los Angeles, senior US officials said,
after weeks of tension around several countries expected to be excluded. Summit preparations have been clouded by the threat of an embarrassing boycott
by some regional leaders – including Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, the Mexican president – if Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua are not invited.

Juan Gonzalez, the White House’s Latin America adviser, said in a call with reporters: “We still have some final considerations. But we will, I think, inform
people publicly soon.” Mr Obrador, who received an invitation last week, has yet to say whether he will attend. The summit will be held in the US for the
first time since 1994. Washington has said it only wanted leaders of administrations that respect democracy to attend, and that the Leftist government
of Venezuela and Nicaragua would not be invited.

The White House referred questions to the Spanish and Canadian governments. Canada’s immigration department did not immediately respond to a
request for comment. There was no immediate word from Spanish authorities.

Fuck them, and fuck their gun grab.

If we run out of ammo, well, you're in a part of the world that still recalls how effective a crossbow can be.

Even an unattended, automatic trail set one.

That shit can be made at home, just like Malay whips can be.

They'd better send more than two to my patch.

And the ones they send better be wearing shrapnel-proof and bomb-proof drawers.

And have crossbow -proof necks and mouths and crotches.

I don't aim center-of-mass like they teach. I aim for most effective unprotected areas.

Even if that is only a knee.

And what I aim for is what I hit. Almost got fired for making head shots once.

And they'd best be graduated from the latest booby-trap course.

A better option would be to just leave me the hell alone to die in peace.

'Cause I ain't even mentioned the most dangerous shit waiting on them when they come.

And I ain't going to. Surprises are fun, right?

Guns are the least of their concerns if they come for me.

And I taught my kids well.

So they better hang back for a few generations.

.
Diogenes was eating bread and lentils for supper. He was seen by the philosopher Aristippus, who lived comfortably by flattering the king.

Said Aristippus, ‘If you would learn to be subservient to the king you would not have to live on lentils.’ Said Diogenes, ‘Learn to live on lentils and you will not have to be subservient to the king.’

Ah yes... and I would love to a thread on such 'magic' of how the public are still enchanted with the trained-mechanism
of article-layout. Journalists can take a neutral comment and as you say, create a narrative that the original point of view
isn't suggesting.
