Archive 81

Netflix put out an intriguing series called "Archive 81" this past January. If you watch it or had watched it, note how the murderous cult with Alien face masks hijacked the Gurdjieff Fourth Way enneagram all in an effort to re-create a ritual with the intention to create a distortion bubble... that allowed a person to Time Travel.

The plot: "An archivist hired to restore a collection of tapes finds himself reconstructing the work of a filmmaker and her investigation into a dangerous cult."

The show has references to Dante's Divine Comedy, demon archetypes, symbols, Lovecraftian horror, The Circle (ritual magic; Circles of Hell), AND a lot of creepy conspiracy mystery as the main characters plunge deeper down the rabbit hole.

FoundFlix has an 81 minute vid breaking down the whole series in detail.

In episode 4 a document is shown:
"The frequency of thought: Vibrational manipulation as a means of cross-dimensional bridges" by a Dr. S. Nathaniel Turner. I could not find any such document, but searching on the title led to an article with same title by an investigating journalist...

Quote:By Maria Anna van Driel, www.nexttruth.com

Everything in our world has its own electromagnetic resonance, a frequency at which all molecules vibrate. This frequency, more commonly known as the Schuman Resonance, is supposedly the key for bringing our bodies into natural harmony with our environments. However, I believe that by altering the natural frequency at which a molecule vibrates, we are not merely putting molecules out of sync with our natural resonance, but also creating a cross-dimensional bridge, as the molecules attempt to sync with both is intrinsic resonance and its new found frequency.

Another article that popped up by the search machine was The Quantum Mechanics of Changing Thoughts.

Episode 5: "Through the Looking Glass" - book shown:
Occult works - A Catalogue of occult artifacts, Gods and demons on Alchemy, astrology, magic, necromancy, sorcery, and witchcraft: Diabolical possession and exorcism.

The artifact in the show that the cult worshiped by the Baldung witches was described as a Pedestal sculpture, Greenstone, 14th century, provenance unknown. Entity known as "Kaelego", “a trickster god", cited as both god and demon (pan dimensional), varied attribute who select followers on Earth believe will usher in a new era where everything is beautiful and nothing hurts. By performing a magical ritual, the Vos Society from the 1920s (and its 1990s offshoot) believe that they can invite Kaelego to our realm. Kaelego also pops up several times throughout the series as a sort of “ghost in the machine.” All of the filming of these events has somehow captured its essence in the ether and it can occasionally be seen on screen like in the film Poltergeist.

There is no such thing as a “Baldung” witch in any known mythology that I combed through. Their name, however, almost certainly comes from 16th century German Renaissance artist Hans Baldung. One of his best known works is called “The Witches” from 1510.

"The Malleus Maleficarum and the construction of witchcraft, Theology and popular belief" book was also shown. PDF copy (2003)

Another book in the show was "Compendivm of Witchcraft & Dark Magick philosophy" which led me to Library of Congress - The (Cursed?) Original Book of Witchcraft

The bulk of filming was done in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In March 2022, the series was canceled after one season.

I'm a certified grand master of time management, otherwise known as a hopeless insomniac.
