Tennessee successful insurrection

I never learned about this in school...WW2 veterans of McMinn County, Tennessee lead one of the only successful insurrections in American history, known as the Battle of Athens (1946), storming the town's police station and disbanding the local government after years of Dem corruption, police brutality, and voter fraud & discrimination.
