Quote:A “fictosexual” man who wed a fictional, computer-synthesized pop singer four years ago said he’s now unable to communicate with his wife, but is still in love with her.

Akihiko Kondo, 38, was dating Hatsune Miku — depicted in pop culture as a 16-year-old with turquoise hair — for a decade before they had an unofficial wedding ceremony in 2018. Kondo — one of many who identifies as “fictosexual,” or someone who is sexually attracted to fictional characters — spent 2 million yen, or about $17,300, on the nuptials, but his family did not attend.

Now married for four years, Kondo, 38, said his relationship has hit a roadblock: He can no longer speak with Miku due to a technological hurdle, according to Japanese newspaper Mainichi.

WTF indeed.
Just when I think I have heard it all.
At least blow-up dolls are physically there.
Sometimes I wonder if the Great Reset is needed.
Sometimes I wonder how people got so un-human.
"I must not fear.  Fear is the mind-killer.  Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.  I will permit it to pass over me and through me.  And when it has gone past, I will turn the inner eye to see its path.  Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain." Frank Herbert, Dune

OMG, laughing so hard at this! Yes, I’m bad and am going to hell. I know this is a thing in Japan, has been since the internet started. I’m not sure what’s in the water over there, but this is so crazy. I’ve seen news reports that say that Japan’s population is rapidly aging, and there are way less people having children. Their population will continue to go down, as many Japanese men do not want anything to do with getting married much less having kids. It’s kind of sad.

The Japanese.....

Not satisfied with catering for every single fetish you could possibly imagine they have to make up more.

Top of my bucket list is to go to Japan.
I'm fascinated with the culture.....a completely different mindset and way of thinking to 'Westerners'.

Japan is CRAZY expensive.  You DO NOT get what you pay for.  You pay for what is delivered ... and that is often disappointing.

My wife loves Japan for its crafts.  Their attention to detail rivals that of the Swiss Watch Makers.  I have little to no interest in another trip there.

What I DID like was going to Ninja Town with my son.  I liked seeing their history first-hand (-vs- an Internet tour of the place) ... their pottery making style is an enduring memory. And ... their cuisine ... OMFG!!

Before you go, get some lessons in Saké drinking.  This is not a thing you can learn in a session or two.  Their draft beer (Kirin and Sapporo).

As for the subject of this thread: That dude has weirdo written all over him.  Maybe fanatic would be a better descriptive.

In my day there was only one reason why the Missus wasn't talking to you and it didn't have
anything to do with software. In her eyes, you've done something wrong.

Explanation: Why the fuck do you care if it has holes or not ok?

Personal Disclosure: I suggest it has a hole where his heart used to be eh?

Do you want to fuck that inglorious hole?

The reason I ask is because life is not Only about fucking holes as far as I know as its more about filling the holes in and out so that people can be wholey and souly holy again.

If yes then I suggest that you are no better than him and you should contemplate that deeply before you laugh at his predicament!

If not then I suggest  that you need to seriously curb your hornyness lol!

I, for example, love many things with [donuts] and without [coffee] holes and I rank both those things above many other things but neither holds a candle to my girlfriend, who is totally wholesome and yet with some holes as well lol!

I want to fuck her, not them!!!

As for this bloke ... I am  not surprised as many Japanese men have chosen to become https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herbivore_men

Quote:Herbivore men or grass-eater men (草食(系)男子, Sōshoku(-kei) danshi) is a term used in Japan to describe young men who express little interest in getting married or being assertive in relationships with women.[1] The term was coined by the author Maki Fukasawa, who initially intended for it to describe a new form of masculinity that was not reliant on the proactivity and assertiveness typically associated with masculinity in Japan. Philosopher Masahiro Morioka defines herbivore men as "kind and gentle men who, without being bound by manliness, do not pursue romantic relationships voraciously and have no aptitude for being hurt or hurting others."[2]
According to Fukasawa, herbivore men are "not without romantic relationships, but have a non-assertive, indifferent attitude toward desires of flesh."
The term was quickly sensationalized by the media, gaining a negative connotation suggesting young men who had lost their "manliness" were responsible for Japan's declining birth rate and stagnating economy. Through mass media, the label of herbivore man came to be associated with irresponsible, overly feminine men who cared too much about their appearances rather than marriage or finding a stable job, which were seen as traditionally masculine goals. The definition of herbivore men is still debated because of this, making it difficult to estimate how many men in Japan identify as herbivore men, particularly considering the social stigma associated with the term.

This is mental illness amplified by possibility. I can not word it differently.

I think many of my generation can maybe relate to having a crush on a TV character or even fictional comic character. That may sound strange to someone not having access to TV with such series in their childhood, so gen X, Y and Z may be able to relate the most.

But it's just that, reflecting on it now it may be personal preferences mirrored by the character and it vanes after time, as we grow up. However such things can turn into obsessions and I think that's exactly what it is. Mental weakness, isolation and echo chambers help it flourish.

It's also testifies the huge problems we have in our society and highlights the isolation especially in some Asian countries likw Japan or Korea, where I feel most stories come from. It's also where the uncanny sex robots come from. There are not a lot of taboos in for example Japan when it comes to sexuality in the own 4 walls, even though it seems on the surface and in public, everything is done to save face on these topics.

I mean, dirty panty vendor machines, an obsession with school girl themed porn, bestialities... just to pick Japan as an example. But in real life, out there, everyone is trying to safe face and blend in with the mass. But in the bedroom oh my... So I think it was only a question of time that more strange things develop and Archer comic series has exactly that themed with Krieger's holographic wife that he allegedly murders every night (as she can be rebooted).

IDK, deep down inside me I think people can do what they want as long as they don't harm others but I can not help feeling a mix of sadness, pitty and a skewed kind of understanding why someone would talk themselves into something like that. It's like make believe turned reality and is a slippery slope for all kinds of detoriations further down the road of society.
