Who Wants To Live Forever
#1
Maybe we are looking at this all wrong.

Eternal life. What is it really? It is not about keeping our physical bodies. So what are they trying to keep? Some would say our brains. But what good is an old or damaged brain?

I think what they want to persevere is our memories. What we know. Our experiences. They don't need our brains for that. So the short and the sweet of it, is they want our data. And they don't even need our brains or our bodies for that.

The way the system is set up, we provide them with every thought, every experience, every event that will become a memory, every time we communicate online. With every keystroke, every utterance to Alexa, Google, or any digital assistant. We generate a massive collection of our memories/data even through our interactions with others, sweet pure data.

All they have to do is find a way to encapsulate all of the data into a tiny chip. A neuro implant if you will, and there you have it. Life in a chip. Data on command. A way to live forever. I guess they have to make sure they make backups, in case you get accidentally erased.

Just a thought.

Reincarnation vs living in a controlled digital cloud, an 8th realm to imprison our consciousness.

They (TPTB) with unlimited $$$ are working on that...memories...recording memories/dreams and playing them back, but also editing then re-inserting via neuro-chip. Like the films Minority Report and Total Recall. Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, DARPA, IARPA, Intel & Microsoft, etc. They're already working on using human DNA strands to store data.

CRISPR Offers the Potential to Live Forever, But to What End? Chinese scientists have successfully prolonged the lives of mice by using CRISPR.

Quote:The CRISPR/Cas 9 study found a gene tied to cellular senescence (which tells cells to stop growing) and also, that CRISPR/Cas9 treatment can make partially dormant the aging process. CRISPR/Cas9 treatment allowed mice to live 25% longer and be physically stronger. Biologists see these results being relatively easy to reproduce on humans in a clinical setting.

My DNA will carry on through my progeny. They each carry some of my physical and mental traits and they will pass them down through their own offspring. Thousands of years in the future I will still be here in a sense through my genetic material- and maybe a few funny and embarrassing stories as well! In this way I will truly live on forever.

I don't think that is their plan.

Procreation is not very likely to be done the old fashioned way. Sex will likely become strictly for entertainment. And likely allowed with anything and anybody, because babies will no longer be made that way. I don't think God children will be very well received.

There will be a massive library of DNA strands to choose from, to make that special designer child many have always wanted.

Gattaca  comes to mind.

I mustn't think of it, no thanks! One life is plenty and too long as it is.
In a perfect world and perfect live , then okay, but that's fantasy.  minusculebonker

Quote:The movie title made up of 4 letters – G,A,T,C of DNA code. Some genetic experts found the meaning of “Gattaca” the sequential code, closest one was “Lasioglossum gattaca” part proteins of genetic made up for “Bee” species. The “experts” couldn’t explain the further meaning of the bee. It is almost equal as the symbol of “the sun”.

“Our ideal society is like a Beehive. Above the workers, we have the drones.” –Plato, Ideal society, perfect society or Utopia in who’s point of view Ruler or average public? Why wouldn’t they like to have a “Bee-hive”(Behave) society, so orderly and harmony like children. In some country the children go to school on yellow “Buzzies”, prepare them to become worker in “Beesness”.

The Greek “myth”, Melissa the goddesses(priestesses) of fertility – means “Queen bee”, Essenes(priests or monks) means the “drone bee”, Monks and Melissa add them up is “Mona lisa” – using Sfumato (to merge) one of 4 techniques of renaissance’s painting, “she” looks like nor male/female. Of course these are not the public level of known priests and nuns – none for no offspring. Able to have generative means power, so there’s no coincidence in language of mandarin(Chinese) with the “colourfull” word – “Nui B”(bee).

The function of the Queen bee and drone bees is to reproduce only, worker bees can’t reproduce but to work. A good quality queen means a strong and productive hive, that’s why in some country still keep their “Queen” as they expand their colony(clone).

About the movie, most human was cloned (genetically, err eugenically with nowadays called “Bioethic” sounds “ethical” ) allow to be bread only if there was function for him, programmed like worker bees. Those Organic(natural) born are the “genetically defected” human. The twist in the story was the natural born one, he lived his life by chance, lift himself up into “space”(allegory for spirit/heaven). The GMO human one, he decided go to “burner”(matter/hell).

This move towards trans-humanism, AI, CRISPR, Neuro Links, and genetic manipulation is not new. It has been going on for a long time.

It makes me wonder if clandestine experimentation has anything to do with with the increase in brain related illnesses.

Somnium Space is developing a way for people to talk to their loved ones even after they die. All it requires is massive amounts of personal data.

I guarantee you, some will sign up for this, and putting a finger in the dike is not going to stop the damn from breaking on this one.

Quote:With all that data stored, Somnium Space will then work to create an immortal mirror image of users with the same visual movements and manner of speech—the stuff of an exhausting amount of science fiction ranging from Dollhouse to Dune to Man of Steel, the plot of which revolved around Henry Cavill and Michael Shannon fighting over a thumb drive containing a sentient representation of Russell Crowe, who, though long dead, sought to mentor his son Cavill.

“We can take this data and apply AI to it and recreate you as an avatar on your land parcel or inside your NFT world, and people will be able to come and talk to you,” Sychov told me.
