This wind just won't quit! Dang it!
#1
We have had wind for a solid month!  No kidding.  I'm not talking about "breezy" either, I'm talkin' about straight-up WIND!

Rescheduled everything last week until next week for moving the livestock, and then today a customer calls and wants to pick up his bull today (as in...right now).  Everything was calm outside...until he called.  Since then the temps have dropped into the 30's and the wind is averaging 30mph, gusting to 45-50mph!

Un-freaking-believable!  It just won't quit this year!  This year has been the worst in the past 20 years for wind, and more relentless wind!

SMDH!

Dont you live in the windiest state in the lower 48?

Also, does this have anything to do with your new taco job??

Explanation: Wind you say eh? ...

What do you do when life gives you lemons?  ... YOU MAKE LEMONADE OK!

So what to do if life gives you a lotta windage ??? ...

Wind farms is the solution! ...

You could even generate electrickery AND compress air for energy storage at the same time!

Personal Disclosure: Goodluck wrangling that bull ok.

P.S. I'd bet the farm that the minute you install such a system that Murphey's law will kick in and you wont get much wind anymore!

But who the fuck cares about that when ...

Wind Funnel Generator Is Channeling Interest

Quote:The INVELOX (short for “increased velocity”) technology uses a funnel system that captures the wind and brings it to ground-level turbines and rotors for easier and cheaper operation and maintenance (Figure 3). Its developer, Minneapolis-based SheerWind, says that the technology allows wind energy to be produced from record-low wind speeds of 2 m per second in locations close to the end user—and even on rooftops in urban areas.

Funny Looking Tower Generates 600% More Electrical Energy Than Traditional Wind Turbines

Quote:The idea is so simple, so elegant, and promises to produce so much more energy at a lower cost and more efficiently, that it might just be the answer to many problems with current wind turbine technology. Aside from the lower capital investment to get started, and increased efficiency and power generation, it also might be a solution to the ever-growing problem of birds (and bats) being killed by traditional wind farms. (Yes, that is a problem)

@OmegaLogos - Now THAT is a really cool design idea!

In fact, that is an AWESOME idea!  Plus, then we can get rid of those godforsaken giant wind turbines which are screwing up the landscape across the western US!

Win-win!

<Sigh>

Customer waved off.  After all that!

"Too windy!"

Anymore, I'm beginning to think we really do (live in the windiest state).

I grew up in Wyoming, and it was pretty windy there, but nothing like it has been here this year.

I hear ya'.

This year has had some amazing wind so far. Like, every other day it's howling. Hard to get anything done.
