I agree with what some of you said regarding ATS being special because of the people. I will miss it if it goes away, but I have the memories of some friendships on there too. Glad to see you all here.
Go to the Avatar Thread and tell @"BIAD" to make you one. He and Gordi are our lab techs for avatars.
Thanks. I will check into that.

It was a gateway to open my eyes.
I found everything I was searching for and more. Met my wife there.
I went searching further, finding various of places to land.
Banned from there several times, I really just went dark, just researching on my own.
ATS has gone through this before, but honestly, I won't miss it because of the friends I made elsewhere and for the friends I know in real life.
Done with politics, and want to continue my search for the weird and unexplained.
Cheers !
I met Grace over there, too! Who knew ATS was a matchmaking site? She was a Muslim, I was bashing the shit out of Muslims, and the rest is history!

What's love?

I can't really define it, but I know what it is when it sticks cold feet in my back in the middle of the night, and yet I don't break it's legs for it...

I saw redneck, rickymouse, and The Spock here and figured itd be good.
Can I post one liners or naughty words here?
I've not tried all seven of Carlin's Seven Deadly Words yet, but so far everything I've tried has flown...
So far, I've seen "shit", "piss", "Fuck", and "tits".
Three more to go...
... but two of those are compound words, and so may not really count.

LOL.
This site right here is exactly what i was hoping for, it couldnt be any more perfect for me.
It looks great in dark mode, the user interface (is that the correct terminology?) is easy to navigate, and best of all, theres already a good few familiar names. Plus the new names (to me) are friendly and very helpful.
I already know this is the place for me
You just haven't heard my new name. I dunno if you've heard my old one or not. I was a member at ATS from 2008 onward, but ceased being active there in late 2014. I was "nenothtu" there.

I was banned AGAIN! Saddened yes, but not truly surprised.
Hi all
So is it safe to say it is almost impossible to get banned here...lol
You'd have to be pretty rough to get banned. Usually, Guohua just takes you out back and gives you a whip-lashing. Once the scars heal, all is forgiven.

I like turds.
These people refer to them as chocolate oatmeal no bake cookies. Pff
OMG! Those look evil and delish....I will make some soon....TY!
I'll taste--test them for you to make sure they're edible, and not poisonous. I'll probably need several - quality control, y'know?

There were bad events on ATS (bannings). Used to crush me looking back through the old threads and seeing accounts that had just been trashcanned. What was the good of it?No idea whose protective wings I posted under, but I suspect one or more of our recent sign-ups.
Cheers Cancel Culture. They added to its mystery. Member banning, punishing 'time outs' for irredeemable retrobates? ; infantile nonsensical overreactions to something in the ether?

I got banned from ATS after less than a year by Skeptic. But one of the Mods got me back on again. I kind of said something that Skeptik thought a guest speaker wouldn't like, but the guest speaker actually didn't mind what I said when he responded to my post a day later. You just 'thought'you were banned (it was actually the cat wearing the glasses with a book) got tossed.

I hate it when the door bell rings.
It's just not worth answering. First, I don't care who is there and secondly I'd have to put clothes on to answer the door. So I just ignore it, they all go away after a few rings.

For sure, that's an easy fix though .I just removed the switch and there's a sign on my door that says go away.
People know that unless they call me or text me not to be dropping by. It helps that I don't live in the city either, so it's a bit conspicuous when people decide to use my driveway as a turnaround. I used to get irritated about that, but now as long as they don't sit there for longer than it takes to move on, or ask me if I've seen their missing dog it's okay.
I had one guy catch me outside while doing yardwork, and he wanted me to sign his petition to run for some political position. I think he went straight home afterwards. He couldn't answer any of my questions, and when he asked again if I would sign I told him he had five minutes to get off my property.

This is a nearly two year old thread I shamelessly thought needed a bump for those feeling a sense of loss or withdrawal considering ATS might be gone for good this time? It was written when SO first started talking about things going dark and we had an influx of new members.
Scroll through, there's a lot more folks here from there than you might guess.

I felt like a red-headed step-child that just got kicked to the curb.
Had the premise in mind for 2 years now, but didn't expect the abrupt, unannounced eviction. Oh well, that's life. Thanks for the warm welcome & quick sign-up!
