1883 When you can quiet down a little you ought to check it out

So Ive been watching 1883 [5 episodes] and so far it's pretty good. Probably not just shut up and watch good, but it holds my notoriously short attention span fairly well

1883 Follows the Dutton family on a journey west through the Great Plains toward the last bastion of uncolonized America.

Sure it's a tad unbelievable but Sam Elliot has always been a favorite actor and Tim and Faith do a fairly good job too as does the rest of the cast. It's good enough to make me definitely watch Yellowstone, which so far Ive been avoiding cause I wasn't in the mood for watching a western yet.

But if it's like 1883 it's worth a look...

We have watched most of it, been holding off on the last two episodes because I know it will be a year before a new season comes- IF a new season comes at all.

The first episode was pretty slow but once we started getting into it we were hooked. Most newer Western movies or series are pretty cheesy with D list actors but 1883 went above common modern standard on this.

I give it a thumbs up!

I watched the first two episodes and really liked it. Unfortunately I can’t do any of the steaming services here because the only internet I can get, other than my phone, here is expensive and not worth having. I would recommend watching it though.

Yes, I watched 3 more and that's where I am at too.

The acting has been pretty consistent Isabel May handles the action sequences well enough, as a guy Im usually skeptical if the modern actress can pull off the 1880's vernacular, mannerisms and physicality, think both her and Faith Hill have done very well making it semi-believable they could do as the story portrays. They do that mother-daughter dance that happens at that age very well too. Even the gypsy girl i growing on me

Tim McGraw and Sam Elliot too, the guy the played Ennis were excellent. The brutality featured and how they had to be pretty much ruthless but both also have common decency too.

even the narration is solid, it's written well and is somewhat poignant, the locations are good even the CGI is decent.

One thing though they must have an excellent dentist in the wagon train everybody's teeth are pearly white and didn't Claire have a daughter? did I miss where she got killed?

I'll check it out.

I used to watch Yellowstone but quit when it delved just a little too deeply into soap opera land, which is where Longmire kinda lost me too...

But this one has peaked my interest, hopefully they can hold off on the soap opera for a while...
