It’s good to see everyone again since ats is down. I read somewhere on the interwebs that it got seized by the fbi or something. Don’t know how true that is or what’s up with it over there.

Nah, I don't think the FBI got it. I saw that same rumor, but when the FBI seizes a domain, they put up a snazzy splash screen to the effect of "Hi. we stole yer shit to protect 'Murica. Love, FBI" or something like that.
So I think that is probably just another of the rumors circulation in the vacuum of information.

I speculate it was bought out by some bigger tech company and canned or ownership did something for some reason all of a sudden

That's a possibility. There is a reason the new owners wanted to remain anonymous, and that may have been to minimize repercussions against them when they bought it up just to crap it out. Some tech giants have really deep pockets - Facebook, Google, and Microsoft come to mind. They could afford to eat a site that was burning their narratives just to squelch it.
