Hey @"OmegaLogos" , this one is for you my friend
Apparently, Farcebook is losing members to the point it is effecting their stock
To the tune of $232 billion, in fact
Guess people are tired of being censored and going other places that accept all views, like Gettr and Parler
I know I am
The Zuckerberg Blues: Facebook’s $232 Billion Face Plant Sets Record for Largest One-Day Market Value Drop
Quote:On Wednesday, Facebook (now Meta) reported flat user growth across almost all of its platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp last quarter, but even more worrying for the company was the loss of around 1 million daily users in North America.
The majority of Facebook’s advertising profit comes from North American users, so a loss of 1 million users shows signs of what could be a worrying trend for the company. This loss of users led to an overall decrease in daily Facebook users globally which a company spokesperson said was the first sequential decline in the history of Facebook.
Facebook’s heavy bet on the metaverse has also cost the company money in recent months, with CEO Mark Zuckerberg stating that the company had a net loss of $10 billion in 2021 due to its investment in the metaverse.
Time will tell if more users jump ship.
Hopefully Twitter and Youtube will be next, they are just as bad with censorship

Victim here, so I can speak from experience.
Facebook moved all my posts to the bottom of the feed for 90 days, so I just stopped posting any content of consequence. What's the point if no one is going to see it anyhow?
I just keep it now because a few friends and family have that as the only way to contact me. I don't generate any clicks or revenue for them.
from where I'm standing, it looks like the dumbasses cut their own throats, so they get what the get.

Same here. I use FB to keep up with friends and family. Great for that.
I like YubNub and Gab for everything else in the mindless scrolling category. Way better platforms. A lot more open.
I guess that makes me a nazi-terrorist-hatemonger because I believe people should have the right (and place) to express themselves. Totally unacceptable.
Someone should be on the lookout 24/7 to protect me from things I have not been told to think. Heaven forbid I actually engage in discussion with someone whose views differ from mine. That's hate speech!

Hmmmmmm, things may get pretty interesting....
Apparently Zuckerberg has allowed scammer ads to use images of people without their permission.
Guess they are too busy censoring those people with opposing views and could care less about those fraudulent ads.
But Andrew Forrest, billionaire founder and chairman of mining giant Fortescue Metal, alleges that Facebook breached Australia’s anti-money laundering laws for failing to act against cryptocurrency scam ads on its platform featuring celebrities, including himself
Quote:Australian billionaire and mining magnate Andrew “Twiggy” Forrest has launched a criminal case against Facebook, alleging the social media giant failed to prevent false cryptocurrency advertisements that used his image.
Mr Forrest argued in the case lodged in the Western Australia Magistrates Court that the social media platform breached Australia’s money laundering laws by failing to prevent false advertisements.
“The three charges filed in Australia allege Facebook was criminally reckless by not taking sufficient steps to stop criminals from using its social media platform to send scam, fraudulent and deeply dishonest advertisements to fraud Australian mums and dads and innocent users,” the billionaire told local news outlets.
“This legal action follows many attempts by me asking Facebook to prevent my image from being used by criminals to scam Australian users, innocent mums and dads, hard-working Australians, and hard-working people around the world,” said the chairman of the Fortescue Metals Group.

For me it's just a comunication source, and extra photo storage. At this time in my life, none of the junk is important any more. Thinking of moving to Hawaii and living rent free and staying painless. A brand new house. A nice little piece of heaven, Avacado's Mango's Coffee, Macadamia nuts and all the weed one could have a use for. Cooking anyone? Mahi-mahi..

Hawaii is too expensive to live in for me. Cost of living is way too high.
On the other hand, I had a friend who, as soon as he got out of the service, disappeared into the Hawaiian jungle and lived there in that jungle for a year without spending a dime, so it IS doable!
