I remember those days. Chicken Littles were running around screaming about a "New Ice Age" coming that we could not stop. They were cackling about holes in the ozone layer, too, and ignoring the fact that holes in the Ozone Layer repair themselves in 6 years time. Any mention of "nuclear winter" on top of the ice age predictions just made them shit themselves, and go into paroxysms.

Then, when it became clear that the planet was actually still warming as it continued to emerge from the precious ice age, they shifted to cries of "global warming!" as their doom porn of the day. "Runaway greenhouse gasses! Piss yourselves! PISS YOURSELVES! We're cared shitless, so you should be, too!" Then when it became apparent that wasn't going to happen, either, they shifted gears to "climate change" to try covering BOTH bases, whatever comes.

And none of it will. The world will continue as it always has continued.

BUT - I think you mean "MR. Spock". "DR. Spock" was a leftist pediatrician who tried to convince parents to let their kids run roughshod over them, and the rest of society, too. Look where that has gotten us!
